{"id":7927643242724,"title":"Harmony Stella 929 blonde vintage 6 string guitar","handle":"harmony-stella-929-blonde","description":"\u003cp\u003eClassic late 1960s \/early 70s USA made Harmony Stella 929 parlour sized guitar, blonde finish with \"batwing\" pickguard.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll solid birch construction, ladder braced top, poplar neck, made in Chicago.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e24 inch scale length, 36 inches long overall.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis guitar has been fully overhauled and set-up so that it is properly playable. Often these little guitars are described as \"great for slide\" simply because they need a neck-reset, but not many people do this work, as it is a skilled job and labour intensive, and many feel their status as a \"catalogue guitar\". doesn't warrant the effort and expense to sort them out. I've done this to dozens of these guitars, which were in production as variants of this model from the late 1930s to the early 1970s, so I genuinely know these guitars inside out.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe've given this guitar a neck reset to ensure it's fully playable with a good low action (1.75mm across the board at the 12th fret). The reset has been done so that there's plenty of height in the bridge, the fretboard extension has had a tapered wedge installed so that there's no fall-off or hump where it joins the body, and it's all been done using traditional hide glue.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe guitar has been refretted with Van Gent medium fretwire. The fretboard is pearwood with a stained and painted finish, the fret markers are stencilled.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll original hardware and machineheads which are working fine. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNew Blackwood Tek bridge base, fitted with the original adjustable height bridge saddle. Strung with d'Addario phosphor bronze 10's.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt's generally in good condition, and has been treated pretty well, but do bear in mind it's over 50 years old!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese charming little guitars are increasingly difficult to get hold of, and I pride myself in knowing how to restore them and get them nicely playable.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe birchwood and ladder braced construction make for a tight boxy sound which is great for blues, and the handy size makes it a very comfortable guitar to play. Often these little guitars are described as \"great for slide\" simply because they need a neck-reset, but not many people do this work, as it is a skilled job and labour intensive, and many feel their status as a \"catalogue guitar\". doesn't warrant the effort and expense to sort them out. I've done this to dozens of these guitars, which were in production as variants of this model from the late 1930s to the early 1970s, so I genuinely know these guitars inside out.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe've given this guitar a neck reset to ensure it's fully playable with a good low action (1.75mm across the board at the 12th fret). The reset has been done so that there's plenty of height in the bridge, the fretboard extension has had a tapered wedge installed so that there's no fall-off or hump where it joins the body, and it's all been done using traditional hide glue.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe guitar has been refretted with Van Gent medium fretwire. The fretboard is pearwood with a stained and painted finish, the fret markers are stencilled.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll original hardware and machineheads which are working fine. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNew Blackwood Tek bridge base, fitted with the original adjustable height bridge saddle.
