We specially select the gauges for cigar box guitar to give you the best combination of string tension and playability. Our "balanced tension" sets are specifically designed to make playing easier and provide more consistent playability.

We offer strings with conventional hexagonal cores or "old school" round cores for a reduced tension. For acoustic guitars with piezo pickups we recommend bronze wound strings, and for electric guitars, nickelwound.

Our Monel wound strings on round cores offer a vintage style construction with a resulting lower string tension for a given tuning, suitable for both acoustic and electric guitars
