Learn to play 3 string cigar box guitar with ChickenboneJohn,  The Godfather Of The Cigar Box Guitar.  If you are just starting, or struggling to really get to grips with playing the cigar box guitar, then the morning's beginner session is just right for you. For players wishing to develop their technique, or transferring ther skills from 6 strings, we offer our afternoon session for intermediate players.   • Holding the guitar and hand position
  • Basic 12 bar blues progression
  • Bass runs
  • Scales
  • Basic slide technique
  • Slide vibrato and glissando
  • Right hand picking and strumming
  • One chord Hill Country basics

We are offering two sessions -morning for beginners, afternoon for intermediate players.

If you aren't sure which session to book, the morning session is for absolute beginners and for those of you who may be struggling to get to grips with the basics of 3 string guitar.

We'll be playing on a G tuning, so if you are bringing your own guitar, you'll need to be in G D G tuning (recommended string gauges 042-046, 028-032,  018-024 approximately). If you don't have a guitar, we'll have plenty of instruments for you to borrow. We'll also have a selection of guitars, slides and accessories for sale.

We'll be playing acoustically, in a small group, so there's no need to bring an amplifier.

I've taught over 2500 people how to play, and I learned my slide technique from Kevin Brown, who was taught by Son House, so there's a wealth of experience to draw on.

Please note we are a small family business not Amazon, and that whilst we aim to pick, quality check and pack all orders within two working days, due to limited man power and time, orders may be delayed a little at busy times and weekends.
