Nickel plated brass sieve hole coverplate, 1/4 inch Neutrik output jack, single coil lipstick style pickup, volume and tone controls. Designed to replace a"biscuit bridge" 9.5" coverplate without modification to the instrument. This is a standard size coverplate, but we advise that you take a look at the blueprint to check that this will fit your guitar.
PLEASE NOTE: our customers report that this will fit the "Michael Messer" reso guitar, but NOT an original "National Resophonic". If you have a Chinese-made reso, it is likely that this will be an accurate fit, but please refer to the blueprint drawing before ordering. NO RISK!!! If it doesn't fit your guitar, just send it back and we'll refund you.
Amplifying resophonic guitars can be notoriously difficult, but with this replacement coverplate you can plug in and play straight away. For the best reso sound we recommend using this in conjuction with a Shure SM57 microphone to give a more natural sound. You can plug this into a PA or clean guitar amp, and for a little more fun you can use some overdrive and rip it up with a full-on electric sound. Works with regular bronzewound strings, but for a stronger signal, you can use nickel wound electric strings.
